In 2008, we plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the initiation of the Calhoun LTSE. The details of the celebration are not yet scheduled but will be held at the site of this great field experiment, and in conjunction with a summer sampling trip. The images show the Calhoun's old cotton fields newly planted with loblolly pine seedlings (USFS Photo, 1957), and the same fields being logged of their 50-year old pine trees in May 2007.
